MORE THAN
A GOAL
How does one man rally an entire continent?
The answer lies in a beautiful game ⚽️
About The Film
More Than A Goal is more than a film—it is the resurrection of a forgotten legacy. At its heart is Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president and Africa's boldest dreamer, who saw football not just as a game, but as a weapon of liberation and a rallying cry for unity. He poured resources into the establishment of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), proposed and financed the African Club Championships in 1960, built the legendary Black Stars and Real Republikans, and risked it all with the 1966 FIFA boycott—sacrificing Ghana's place on the world stage so Africa's voice could never again be silenced.
This is the story of a man who bet everything on his people's potential. Who saw greatness in every African child kicking a makeshift ball in dusty streets. Who understood that sometimes, the most profound revolutions happen not only in the streets, but on football pitches where dreams are born.
Through rare archival footage and powerful testimonies—from football icons to cultural voices, this documentary is a journey through bravery and sacrifice, liberation and conflict. It is a mirror reminding us that Africa’s dignity has always been worth the fight.
